Located 70 miles southwest of Monie Bay and 10 miles south of Cape Charles VOR was our next stop, a very small spit of sand on the Chesapeake Bay, Eastern Shore. I beached on one side, and Bob, on the other. All other seemingly suitable landing areas had what appeared to be oyster beds just below the surface of the water.
After posing for a few pictures with "DEATH WISH III", we refueled both aircraft and headed for our only enroute stop at "real" seaplane base: Manteo, NC.
